Loft Conversion Windows

Flat, in-line windows fitted directly into the roof slope. The most cost-effective option, and often used together with a dormer for extra light. As a certified Velux installer, we fit these on the majority of our projects.
A dormer creates a box-shaped extension out from the roof slope, with a vertical window — this is what adds the extra headroom and floor space that makes a dormer conversion so popular. See our Dormers page for full details on this conversion type.
Where a hip-to-gable conversion creates a new vertical wall, a standard vertical window can be fitted — giving a look and feel closer to a normal room window than a roof light.
A popular addition to rear dormers — a full-height glazed door with a safety rail, bringing in significantly more light and a sense of space, without a full balcony.
It depends on your roof type, the room's purpose, and your budget. We'll talk through the options — including how each affects light, headroom, and privacy from neighbouring gardens — as part of your free survey.
